MAQUIN; HOW MUCH SKILLS

Since we posted the single of the ace radio/tv presenter Maquin aka D Rezident Prezident, comments have been coming through asking if he's planning to leave the media for music. It sure is a question only he can answer, but it might interest you to know that Maquin has been one of the most consistent radio presenter Abuja has had.

He has been on the radio consistently since 2004 with Raypower fm. He got popular with his different personalities on radio. If u want to get worked up on a weekend, listen to him on GOD FADA NITE CLUB where he turns an enviroment of nothing into an imaginary club situation; making provision for d VIP'S on d VIP LOUNG, he even pops champeign for those first time listeners. How can we forget to mention the performance segment for artistes both up-comming and established. What amazes a lot of people is how he has been able to pull that off. You will also be carried away when you hear him on the caller session chatting with his listeners. You'l can be tempted to swear that he knows them in person but no. He has grown so fund of his fans that they sound like they've known themselves physically. His radio dog takes care of security. He can be hyper-excited and fun. He even said the 8 hour show always seems like 2 hours to him. He even confessed to a time when some people came to the station one certain saturday night asking to go into the GOD FADA NITE CLUB.

Another personlity in this gifted presenter is his emotional side. When you listen to him on SOUL SERENADE on tuesday nights between 9pm and midnight it's whole world of a different experience. The calm and romantic Maquin comes out as he reads beatifull poems for and from his numerous fans.

Yes, on the show you're given the oportunity to write a poem and read on air then you dedicate it to your loved one's. The programme has mended a lot of relationships and has also brought back the lost reading and writing culture in the country. In his nature of getting involved wth his fans, the interaction on the group page is being updated on the show every week. He even has some of his bosses as class members and contributors. According to him, his dream for the RAYPOWER POETRY CLASS is to sanitise peoples emotions and build up education through youths emvolvment in creative writing as this will be the first step to making one to have the interest in reading and writing. He also went further to explain how he plans a picnic for the facebook group members and would put together a major music, poetry and commedy show. A show that will be family friendly and would be sustained for a very long time.

His voice will never miss sometimes as a DCA in the mornings on the ULTIMATE MORNING SHOW. A proffessional voice over artiste and a compare, he has been invoved in almost everything in the broadcast industry except for one; he said he would love to act a movie.

Maquin has been into music even before he started radio presentation. "My hip hop skills gave me that nitche as a different kinna presenter, but people here never knew i had this skill as a hip hop artiste. People who knew me right from Jos will attest to the fact that i used to be amongst the top rappers back then". He has recorded a lot of tracks both solo and collabos, bt why did it take him this long to mk this track public? "I dunno the problem with me seriously. I find it difficult to be satisfied when i record a song. I remember my first proffessionall recording was in 2007 with Mic Delly we did Absent Minded produced by G Lynx, did another collabo with Seemo when we met in Lagos, then i went on an official course. I did a lotta other recordings with other producers. There are times i go to a studio & i hear a beat i just jump on it and before you know it is a collabo. I also did a lotta collabo with Shark Skin, the first National Champ of Benson & Hedges Golden Tones. We'r even thinking of relasin a collabo album so watch out".
